Week two with Claudia, back after the weekend to find she had slept solidly through the night for two of the three nights I was away, brilliant!!! A very happy mum too.
Gosh it’s hot today and Claudia is effected by the heat and falling asleep easily whilst breast feeding. Having to cool her down by giving her a cool water nappy change, cooling the room down and a strip wash. If she is too hot and cosy whilst feeding, she will not feed properly which will have an knock on effect of how well she sleeps.
Newborns are heat sensitive, a few degrees warmer and they can struggle to stay awake. In the summer months, make sure you feed in the coolest room, ideal temperature between 19-21 degrees max. Strip off to feed in just a vest to feed.
